Loved the write up. Poeltl has always stood out to me as one of these touch oriented big who squeezes value out of short hooks, flips, and quick finishes. I’ve been tinkering with a shotmaking RAPM style metric that measures how much better a player is than expected given shot quality, while controlling for teammates and defenders. By that lens, Jakob Poeltl from 2022 to 2024 posted the 18th best three year shotmaking stretch since 1996-97, sitting behind a lot of the usual suspects with a few surprises mixed in. Some other of these bigs that popped up here Ayton, Allen, Brand, Zubac, Jonas, and Richaun Holmes
